Fiesta Poppy - New Fiesta Color for 2014

Poppy is 2014's new Fiestaware color and there is a lot of buzz about this color choice.

Bold, Rich, Earthy all are words that describe Fiesta Poppy and as you can see in the left background in the photo on the left it is darker that tangerine and has a saturation more like Scarlet. The new Fiesta Poppy adds an earthy tone that should create unique color combinations. I look forward to seeing how it pairs with Paprika, Chocolate, Scarlet and Tangerine, the autumn color scheme will be amazing. Also the dynamic contrast between Plum, Cobalt and Lapis should make for bold tables.

The original pictures we received made this look very similar to tangerine and more as a yellow orange, however the lighting was bad and when we got the revised photos we saw how this a an orange-red which is a burnt orange, dark pumpkin color or a Fiesta calls it - Poppy.

The new Fiesta Poppy works well with so many of the current colors it is hard to pick a favorite color combination at this time. I can't wait to do a photo shoot of Fiesta Poppy and pull all of the different colors together. The only color I don't see this work well with would be Flamingo and now wonder if that is the reason it was retired in December?

Pre-Order for Fiesta Poppy is slated to Start on May 1st
Shipping of select Poppy Fiestaware is set for early June.

Hi. Have you seen Poppy yet? I wonder if it is at Boston Store in Milwaukee? I'm excited to see it and have some, as the last two colors were frankly, pretty weak. Flamingo is on closeout already. Lapis is a misnomer. Its a dull slate gray. The boys in Marketing got a little carried away with "Lapis."

In this photo the scarlet looks like a fuchsia pink. Oh, how I wish they would come out with a fuchsia pink.
