Lenox Butler's Pantry Dinnerware being Retired

In the category of "Things that make you go hmm," Lenox has announced that Butler's Pantry is being retired!

Yes the versatile pattern that could be used for everyday use as well as more formal occasions. With its fleur de lis accents, graceful scalloping and serpentine motifs, Butler's pantry became a very popular pattern.

That fact that is was dishwasher and microwave safe was an added plus mom knew that she didn't have to hand wash each piece.

Butler's Pantry was released in 2000 and became very popular very quickly, as a result Lenox quickly increased the product line. Butler's Pantry has remained popular and has been retired in 2015.

Once the announcement was made, 5 piece place settings sold briskly and Dinnerware Depot sold out of them. Dinnerware Depot still has a wide selection of Butler's Pantry dinnerware for sale at 30% off including dinner plates, mugs, bowls, medium platter and more.

However with the popularity of Butler's Pantry, we can't be sure how long we will have this dinnerware pattern for sale.

Butterfly Inspiration - Our Favorite Butterfly Dinnerware & Decor

Warmer weather, more sunshine and the first blooms of spring are here and with that, comes new growth and change. One of the biggest changes in nature is the caterpillar weaving their cocoon and then later coming out as a glorious butterfly.

The metamorphosis is inspiring and the freedom of a butterflies first flight is breathtaking as the gentle flutter of its wings allow it to soar and fly through the air. Few species capture our imagination this unique way, but the butterfly with its beauty and grace does.

Inspired by watching a butterfly pass before me on the way to my car, I started thinking about dinnerware patterns utilize butterflies and decided to review and showcase some our favorite and unique butterfly dinnerware patterns for you. View our Butterfly Inspiration Dinnerware graphic with almost 20 different dinnerware patterns and decor lines.

In addition to the beauty of the patterns, I was surprised by the number and visual difference I found. Sometimes you don't realize how many options exist when you are surrounded by them everyday! Here are some of our favorites.

Butterfly Meadow by Lenox
Butterfly Meadow is the most popular casual dinnerware pattern in the US. Its design mixes garden flowers and butterflies in a springtime image that has lasting appeal. The Butterfly Meadow pattern has been so successful that additional Butterfly Meadow patterns have been added to compliment the original design. In addition there is Butterfly Meadow Flatware, Glassware, Serveware and Kitchen Accessories.

Christian Lacroix Butterfly Parade

From what I have seen, no single pattern showcases more butterflies than Butterfly Parade. The dessert plate alone has over 35 different butterflies and each piece whether plate, bowl, teapot or vase is a celebration of the butterfly. My personal favorite piece is the Butterfly Parade teapot as the shape and the butterflies make it visually stunning.

Arthur Court Butterfly Collection
Looking for a winged butterfly pitcher that is reminiscent of the 1920's, an enchanting butterfly tray or butterfly salad tongs, well Arthur Court has them and more in their hand-cast aluminum Butterfly Collection. Stunning pieces that work together or can stand alone as a signature piece.

Star Home Juliet
These beautiful pieces are both delicate yet strong. While an individual butterfly is delicate, when you connect the butterflies together in a lattice style you get a supporting structure that is strong and beautiful at the same time. Star Home's butterfly collection includes bowls, trays and a butterfly vase.

Versace Butterfly Garden
Versace's Butterfly Garden pattern has a mix of bold butterfly pieces, where the butterflies are big and bold, and softer pieces like the dinner plate where the butterflies mix into the border of the plate. Each piece of Butterfly Garden has exquisite details that will give you enjoyment every time it graces your table. A full table setting is truly inspiring to behold and one guests will remember. Accent pieces for Versace's Butterfly Garden include vases, trays and a candy dish are equally impressive and remind me of museum quality pieces.

Mottahedeh Golden Butterfly
Looking for a more stately butterfly design, than Mottahedeh's Golden Butterfly may be for you. This regal design is strong, formal and focused. While most butterfly dinnerware patterns focus on butterflies in the daylight, this pattern highlights the beauty of the butterfly at night, hence the golden butterfly on a cobalt blue background. This pattern has deeper meaning too, as the golden butterfly is a sign of happiness and that is something to be shared with friends and family at every meal.

These are just a few of our favorite butterfly dinnerware and decor items, visit our web page to view all of our Butterfly Dinnerware & Decor that are sure to inspire you and your guests.

If you are one who enjoys the inspiration and beauty of the butterfly, we hope these pieces warm your heart. If you are looking to purchase these pieces or want to see more butterfly dinnerware than visit DinnerawareDepot.com.

New 2015 Fiesta Colors - Slate & Sage

Earthy, Subtle, Mid-Century, Sophisticated, Calm are just some of the words that come to mind when you see Fiesta New 2015 Colors.

While most associate Fiesta with bold, bright and colorful dinnerware, we often forget that the basics and mid-tones give the other colors their pop and Fiesta color stacks a dynamic look.

Let examine Fiesta's new color Fiesta Slate

This charcoal gray exudes a rich elegance that gives a prestige about it. It screams natural and refined as it tones down and amps up two and three color combinations. Slate, Scarlet and Sage speaks to warm sweaters and a dusting of snow, whereas Slate, Lapis and Sunflower welcome you to the summer beach house.

As a neutral Fiesta Slate works with every color, just a white and retired black Fiesta does, but it does so with more of a brushstroke then setting a blank canvas and that is the beauty of this color.

Fiesta's past Gray colors were Gray and Pearl Gray but each of those grays were a light gray. Slate now provides a rich gray and I can't wait to see it in person.

Now Lets move on to Fiesta Sage

Darker than Shamrock, lighter than Evergreen, Sage fits nicely into the natural elements trend of today. A reserved yet complimentary color it speaks to the farm to table concept, spice, gardening and relaxation.

Fiesta Sage blends easily with Ivory, Slate, Paprika and Scarlet, but also creates unique color statements with Poppy, Plum and Sunflower.

Fiesta's two new 2015 colors are extremely versatile and serve as a foundation for many new colors. The fact that these two colors were shown paired together was no mistake. As other casual dinnerware lines strive to pull business away from Fiesta. The idea of mixing and matching dinnerware pieces may be to risky for younger buyers, so by showing them the perfect match it can introduce them to Fiestaware and perhaps lead them into discovering how building a dinnerware collection over time is fun and beautiful.

Fiesta Slate and Sage Pre-Sale
Dinnerware USA will be begin pre-orders in May, 2015.
Fiesta Slate and Fiesta Sage Orders will begin shipping in June, 2015.

Lenox Opal Innocence the No. 1 Fine China Pattern Expands

Fine china patterns come and go but rarely does a relatively new pattern turn into the top selling fine china pattern over the course of a decade, Lenox's Opal Innocence is the exception.

So how did Opal Innocence go from just another new pattern to the top seller in just 10 years? Well the answer may as simple as simplicity.

As the glamour of the 80's and 90's faded, we were left with many designs that were very intricate and bold that often made a strong statement. Gold was a big part of these designs, but as we moved in the 2000's people wanted something different, subtle and streamlined.

Opal Innocence offered just the right balance of soft border details that pulled from the past, clean lines and silver trim that was fresh and new. The original Lenox Opal Innocence started off slow but continued to gained popularity over it's first few years and the design elements were starting to be copied by other manufactures.

Noting rivals presenting pattern styles that pulled elements from Opal Innocence and a positive sales trend, Lenox moved to expand the product in 2008, 2012 and again in 2014, each time layering on patterns that can stand alone and in some cases be mixed.

While Opal Innocence is a fine china, Opal Innocence Carved is a little more casual and used as an everyday china. Opal Innocence Scroll presented a subtle design with a gentle scroll to appeal those who want a more flair and the Opal Innocence Stripe went the other way and offered cleaner lines.

The next big change to take place was the introduction of Opal Innocence Silver which introduced the first design with a strong contrast to this china pattern. This pattern uses a gentle silver vine pattern to create a luxurious feel to the table. Some say this addition, was inspired by the success of Downton Abbey and the increased interest of the early 1900's. With Silver doing very well Lenox has introduced Opal Innocence Dune and Blue that have now added colors to this pattern.

While these new entries expand the Lenox's Opal Innocence product line it pulls it away from it's original roots of simplicity. If these new Opal Innocence patterns prove to be successful, we believe the new addition to this popular line with be a rose and light green pattern.

If you are a fan of Lenox's Opal Innocence discover the full line of Opal Innocence Flatware, Stemware, Frames, Vases, Giftware and of course Fine China.

Stay tuned for more to come.
* Savings of up to 50% on Opal Innocence are valid as of publish date. Sales and pricing are subject to change after publish date.
